Privacy Statement

What do we do with the information we collect?

We use the information we gather from you for reporting aggregate, not individual values, to our funders (e.g. the # of searches for Alamance County residences in a six-month period). Any personal information such as your email address is never shared outside of the organization and is password protected in our databases.

What about my health information?

When a person sends an email to us asking for assistance in helping their child with a special need, we treat this information as protected health information (PHI). As a part of the UNC-CH Medical School, we adhere to its HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) policies. In regards to email transmission of PHI, our HIPAA policy mandate that the person have received the Notice of Privacy Practices and disclaimer regarding the use of email.
